Pre K Class Descriptions:
Musicology is a class where children and their caregivers explore traditional favorites and contemporary tunes together. It’s about having fun while exposing your child to new sounds, rhythms, rhymes, and finger plays. Your child will enjoy dancing, playing, singing, and socializing with other kids in this fun filled music class. They will get to role play and be animals, learn a new action rhyme, play with scarves, shaky eggs, instruments, and catch bubbles and more. Songs are not only fun but are essential to your child’s language development.
Music for Aardvarks is a refreshing alternative to the traditional music class for kids. The program was created in 1997 in Brooklyn, NY by rock musician/composer and father of three, David Weinstone. Music for Aardvarks is distinct from other children's music programs in that all classes are based around Mr. Weinstone's original songs, rhythms, and chants. With influences of rock, blues, ballads, folk, jazz and pop, Aardvark songs uniquely reflect and celebrate the lives of children growing up today. The music is innovative, intelligent, and irresistibly appealing to both kids and their parents. Our informal, spirited classes are geared toward children 3 months to 5 years old and incorporate singing, dancing, musical storytelling, instrumental jam sessions and more. It's an interactive musical experience that the whole family can genuinely get excited about!
Preschool of Rock caters to the particular needs of each organization visited. Individual attention for each child is integral in our specialized program.
• Preschool of Rock combines language, visual arts, movement, drama, dance and music. This unique and refreshing approach to typical programming is intelligent, fun, challenging and high energy. The children are entertained as they learn about art, culture and music.
• Preschool of Rock travels with acoustic, steel and electric guitars, microphone/amplification, ukulele, harmonica, giant drums, and percussion for discovery. We also provide, shakers, drums, triangles, rhythm sticks, scarves and unique percussion items from around the world for the children to explore. The children learn how to handle them, what they do, how they are made, and how to employ them to create music.
• Through exploring different instruments, rhythms, props and sounds the children are encouraged to participate at any level and at any pace.
• Full participation and musical collaboration open the gateway to a love of music that will last a lifetime. No matter what the future hold for our children, music is proven to enrich children and benefit there acceleration in math and pre-literacy skills.
